Now that July 4th is upon us, I think about what Independence Day really means to us -- another day off, hot dogs and hamburgers, fireworks and sparklers and if you can find it, a parade. It generally comes down to a day of gathering together.
Now I sit and ponder what this day meant to the founding fathers. Samuel Adams, known as the Father of the American Revolution, said: "We have this day restored the Sovereign to whom all men ought to be obedient. He reigns in Heaven … from the rising to the setting sun, may His Kingdom come."
