Servant of the Month – January 2015

Ford_RichIt is my honor to present to you the servant of the month for January, Rich Ford. Rich has been a long time member here at Grace and Peace with his wife Marie.

Rich was a public servant, retiring from the Jersey City Police Department where he started a “Cops for Christ” ministry—a major task in the life of a big city department.

Rich, along with his wife Marie, has co-led ALPHA Groups and is part of our information team in the lobby.

In conversations I have had with Rich he says, “I don’t do that much,” a common comment from those who receive this recognition. My answer is simple, “If we only look at what our servants do we have missed the mark. We look at who they are in Christ.”

Rich is a man who follows hard after the Lord. Young men look to this man of God to see what it’s like to be a Christian man. Retired men look to Rich for his servant heart. Husbands look to him and learn by his example.

I am honored to be one of his pastors and friends.

Rich, thank you for being an example of Christ to this congregation.
