Worship/Media Team Placement Process

Requirements for Participation

Entry Level (training)

  • Evidence of spiritual hunger and growth towards maturity
  • Evidence of potential or trainability in areas being considered
  • A desire to learn and grow, a teachable spirit
  • A regular committed attendee or member of The Church of Grace and Peace (If the candidate is new, there is a four-month recommended waiting period.)

Platform Ministry Music / Worship / Media / Audio

Vocalists: a minimum ability to match pitch, sing on key

Musicians: read chords, keep good time

Media: availability, basic technical aptitude

STEP 1 A candidate would express an interest in and inquire about involvement in worship / media ministry. A ministry of helps application can be filled out at this time and processed, with no guarantee of team placement.

Ideally a candidate would have a personal conversation with a member of the One Voice Leadership Team, or be invited, at the approval of the One Voice Leadership Team, by a current team member to attend a weekly rehearsal or ministry gathering of some type. This could include visiting the media booth during a service or attending a social gathering of any aspect of the Worship & Media ministry.

STEP 2 Subsequent to step one, the candidate would visit and observe and in some cases participate to get a feel for the nature of the ministry, the people involved and the requirements desired. During this step, the candidate is encouraged to seek the Lord, pray and make a decision if Worship or Media ministry is a call of God for him/her to pursue.

STEP 3 Depending on the status of the application, the candidate is “auditioned” to determine skill level and potential team placement. This could include a short trial and training period of up to six weeks.

STEP 4 A final dialogue occurs between the One Voice Leadership Team and the candidate to determine placement on the given team. Possible outcomes would be:

  • Yes, the candidate can be placed at this time.
  • At this time, the candidate is not ready or a right fit for this team, but could be at a later date.
  • No, music and worship or media is not a good fit and the candidate would be recommended to serve in another area of ministry.

A candidate is not approved or disapproved, accepted or rejected. A candidate is helped on a journey to the discovery of proper placement in the Grace and Peace Body, and helped in the maturity and growth process of becoming a healthy believer in the Body of Christ.

Rehearsal & Service Flow

  • Arrive early to all rehearsals and be ready to make the most of our time.
  • Sundays and Wednesdays, please keep a focused and worshipful attitude during rehearsal while on the platform. After rehearsal, we will take a quick five-minute break (bathroom, make-up, water, etc.). We will regroup backstage for prayer and worship as a team.
  • After the time of worship, immediately gather in the back room and as a team we will immediately exit into the sanctuary to sit under the Word, or go directly to the Conference Room. Our goal upon exiting is to be unnoticed to people and video cameras.

Appearance Guidelines

Everyone: Please make every effort to wear crisp, clean, and well-presented clothing.

Our responsibility as women in the church is to dress modestly. One can dress modestly, but still be fashionable.

These guidelines help us remain modest and appropriate for being on the platform serving the Lord in our worship services.

  • Skirt Length – skirts must come to the middle of the knee, not above it, even when worn with leggings.
  • If you are wearing a long skirt with a slit, the slit cannot be higher than the middle of the knee.
  • A slip must be worn with all skirts. (You would be surprised what you can see through with the bright lights!)
  • When wearing a white or other light colored blouse or shirt, you must wear a camisole or tank top underneath to cover the bra.
  • No cleavage whatsoever.
  • Please be modest… no really tight stretchy skirts, shirts, or pants.
  • Leggings are not pants; consider them as tights.
  • Shoulders must be covered.
  • Freedom in worship is encouraged, but ladies; please remember while you worship in dance to keep your hands in front of you by clapping. It can be very distracting when things are moving that shouldn’t be!
  • Dress jeans only. No faded, ripped or jeans with holes allowed.
  • No shorts, flip-flops, bare feet or worn-out clothing allowed.

  • Shirts with collars preferable. No t-shirts please.
  • Ties, jackets or vests allowed, but not expected.
  • No shorts, flip-flops, bare feet or worn-out clothing allowed.
  • Dress jeans only. (No jeans unless they virtually look like sharp pants from a distance.)
  • Dress casual shoes preferred.

Key Scriptures

2 Chronicles 5:11-14

11 And it came to pass when the priests came out of the Most Holy Place (for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves, without keeping to their divisions), 12 and the Levites who were the singers, all those of Asaph and Heman and Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, stood at the east end of the altar, clothed in white linen, having cymbals, stringed instruments and harps, and with them one hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets – 13 indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the Lord, saying: For He is good, For His mercy endures forever, that the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud, 14so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God.

Luke 5:17-26

17 “Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them. 18 Then behold, men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed, whom they sought to bring in and lay before Him. 19 And when they could not find how they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus. 20 When He saw their faith, He said to him, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.” 21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” 22 But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, He answered and said to them, “Why are you reasoning in your hearts? 23 Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise up and walk’? 24 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins” —He said to the man who was paralyzed, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” 25 Immediately he rose up before them, took up what he had been lying on, and departed to his own house, glorifying God. 26And they were all amazed, and they glorified God and were filled with fear, saying, “We have seen strange things today!””

John 4:1-24, emphasis on vs 23 and 24

Revelation 5:11-14

11 Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands,

12 saying with a loud voice:

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain

To receive power and riches and wisdom,

And strength and honor and glory and blessing!”

13And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying:

“Blessing and honor and glory and power

Be to Him who sits on the throne,

And to the Lamb, forever and ever!”

14Then the four living creatures said, “Amen!” And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever.

Prepare-To set the stage, to announce, to clear a path, to remove obstacles, to pray, to establish unity, to acquire skill and excellence, to break open the roof and bring people before Jesus

Reveal-Worship reveals the truth and totality of God and exposes us to His Majesty, His supreme worth, His greatness, His nature, His attributes, His truth, His ability, His wisdom so that He will begin to move, unhindered, unfettered and unquenchable.

Release-When God’s Spirit is truly released all bets are off. Anything can happen. As the throne of Heaven is transfixed before us, the hearts of men are ripe for transformation.

Respond-The result must be response on every level: acknowledgement, salvation, repentance, healing, Spirit baptism, spiritual gifts, callings and appointments, proclamation of His Word, Kingdom expanding power and dominion

The Worship Journey

We must continually re-engage and take people away from
Existential Worship=All creation worships (even the demons tremble)
Ritualistic Worship=Heartless lip service, lifeless habit, pharisaical in nature
Into a full revelation of and experience with . . .

Individual Worship=God is seeking worshippers, out of established covenant relationship
Acceptable Worship=Abel’s offering, implicit obedience and heart purity
Sacrificial Worship=I will not give God that which costs me nothing – presenting our bodies a living sacrifice
Authentic Worship=In Spirit and in truth, Spirit breathed, Spirit led, truth revealing

Corporate Worship=Unified, unilateral, collective, responsive, compelling
