Missionettes Fivefold Purpose:
- To win girls to Jesus Christ through love and acceptance.
- To teach them to obey everything Jesus commanded us – developing girls spiritually and mentally.
- To provide encouragement, support, and accountability through lasting Christian relationships.
- To provide an environment for girls to develop their gifts and abilities.
- To acquaint them with the Great Commission of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
As you can see, Missionettes reaches the total girl for Jesus and helps to establish a strong foundation in Christ. If you have a daughter who has consistently come out to the Wednesday night meetings, you know firsthand the fruit Missionettes can grow in your child. The key is consistency – a fruit tree does not bear good fruit unless it is tended to daily with the water and care that it needs. Likewise, Christians bear much good fruit when they drink from the Word daily – consistency being the key.
As August and September approach, this is a great time to introduce your child to Missionettes – the club that grows good fruit that lasts. These are the different clubs that are offered:
Rainbows – the Noah's Ark Club for pre-school (3 and 4 year old) boys and girls
Daisies – the Sonshine Club for 5 year old and Kindergarten girls
Prims – the Discovery Club for 1st & 2nd grade girls
Stars – the Fun Club for 3rd & 4th grade girls
Friends – the Where You Belong Club for 5th & 6th grade girls

Missionettes is more than just a club. Our purpose is to help girls develop a Christian worldview and build strong relationships. The leaders (also called Sponsors) are committed women of God, leading with integrity and by example, teaching each girl the way she should go, so when she is old, she will not depart from it (Prov. 22:6).
It is vitally important to develop a Christian worldview. Statistics indicate that most people who have a continuing relationship with the Lord made a decision to follow Christ while they were still children. Missionettes provides girls the opportunity to be discipled and molded into the young women that God intends them to become.
Missionettes is broken down into age appropriate groups, where the girls have opportunities to accomplish short and long term goals, all aimed at bringing them into the understanding of how to apply Christian principals in their individual lives. Each month, they are required to complete a lesson on a relevant topic based on a key Scripture verse, which they commit to memory. Lessons include: Salvation, Bible, Church, Family, Missions, Prayer, and Women of the Bible. Upon completing each lesson and reciting the Scripture verse to their Sponsor, the girls earn badges and other awards.
Not only do we want the girls to take Christian living seriously, but also to enjoy themselves and have fun. Each year, the Missionettes Club holds an annual talent rally, a campout at America's Keswick during the summer, a yearly awards ceremony, and a celebration. The girls also march in the Annual Founder's Day Parade in downtown Toms River, wearing their uniforms and singing “We are Missionettes for Jesus.”
We also want to encourage them to make a difference in other people's lives. This year, the girls will be visiting the newly opened Rosewood Assisted Living complex next to the church, where they will spend time with the elderly, sing songs, and even adopt them. We are excited to see what God will do. There are no generation gaps in the Kingdom of God!
The Missionettes Club includes a diverse group of girls from different walks of life, mostly from our church family. Some attend Christian schools, some are homeschooled, and some attend public schools. All are welcome. Following is a story of how the Missionettes program can shape a young girl's life.
A couple years ago, one of our Missionettes met a girl in her public school who was relatively unchurched and did not know Jesus. She began telling the girl about Jesus and soon brought her as a guest to the Stars Club. The more her friend learned about Jesus, the more she came to know Him and love Him. Before long this girl accepted Him as her Lord and Savior at Missionettes, and she is now really hungry for the Lord and for the Word. It has become a priority to complete her lessons, memorize Scripture verses, and earn her badges. She is now pursuing her Honor Star Award. At home, she reads her Bible daily and prays for her father's salvation; she is now having an influence on her own family. That is what Missionettes is all about… changing the world for Christ, one girl at a time! What a blessing it is to watch each of our girls grow up and mature in her walk with Jesus Christ.
