When the Holy Spirit impressed the ministry of greeting upon my heart, I thought – how wonderful! Serving the Lord, greeting people at the door, handing out bulletins, placing names on the Tree of Life, helping with prayer cloths during altar ministry, etc. If I was asked to write this article at that time, it would have ended there. But now, by the grace of God, I’d like to present the Greeter Ministry as the Holy Spirit reveals its facets through the eyes and heart of one servant.

It is such a privilege to stand at the door with a joyful and expectant heart, watching folks come in, each one bringing in the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Some walk in seeking; some press in needing; others run in, filled to overflowing with a need to give out.

What a blessing to greet these beautiful living stones that are coming together, embellishing one another, leaning on one another, shining brightly, with the Holy Spirit having declared them a spiritual house to be presented together as the Bride to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

There is an excitement in the air as I greet each one with the love of Jesus and hand out the bulletin, which tells what’s happening here and offers invitations to be used of the Lord here or there, as you are led of the Spirit.

Then, the long arm of worship reaches out to dance around and capture you, wooing you in, escorting you out of the world and into a heavenly realm, inviting you to come inside the Sanctuary. It’s glorious to behold – God inhabiting the praises of His people!

There is a sweet scent in the air that can be traced to the Tree of Life, which represents hearts given to Jesus because of the love of Christ poured out through another’s heart. And as we place fruit on the tree, we know it will ripen and be picked by yet others who are hungry for God.

The call for prayer comes and I reach for the prayer cloths as the saints move forward. I pray and blink back the tears as I watch the Holy Spirit in full operation. I catch a glimpse of the Anointing on one, witness the move of the Spirit of healing on another, see hearts and minds renewed and restored. I watch the Spirit of God consume and fill to overflowing until some can no longer stand under the power – and the prayer cloth gently covers as God reveals His secrets to the inner man. I think this must be one of the things the angels desire to look into – the transforming power of the love of God at work. Hallelujah!

We are the Greeter Ministry. We are Your witnesses. We are blessed to be called into Your service and joined to this body of believers. We are humbled and in awe, having entered into Your presence and looked upon You, Lord, in the Sanctuary; having seen the demonstration of Your power and Your glory.
