Greetings everyone! There are wonderful things happening with regard to missions here at Grace and Peace. Following is a brief update…

Missions Prayer Initiative
On a recent Mission Sunday, we launched the next phase of missions mobilization here at GAP. We have now launched a missions prayer initiative. The call is to see our congregation mobilized and committed to large scale mission prayer coverage for our missionaries and the nations they serve. The commitment is for one year and involves strategic, purposeful, and faith-filled prayer. Simply, you make a commitment to include regular prayer for missions during your personal prayer and devotional time. Everyone who signs up will be mailed a prayer packet, which will include a list of current missionaries, instruction on how to pray for a missionary, and a world prayer map. If you are interested in joining this prayer initiative and have not yet signed up, please call me at 732-349-1550 x215 or email me at pjim@graceandpeace.org. Leave your name, address and email, and you’ll be mailed your missions prayer packet.

Currently, our regular local mission support touches Ocean County, New Jersey, and New York City. Our global missions reach Central Africa; Papua, New Guinea; Myanmar; Thailand; the Philippines; India; Israel; and the persecuted church in various places in the 10-40 window. We are excited to see our outreach of prayer, love and support broaden over the coming year.

Monthly Missions Prayer
Along with the release of the missions prayer initiative, we want to remind you that on the third Saturday of every month, there is a corporate prayer meeting for missions prayer. All are welcome. Just check the bulletin or call the church office for the time and room location. Please join us whenever you can!

Short Term Missions Trips for 2008
Also, we have news regarding our Short Term Missions Outreach for 2008! We will once again be taking a team to Brazil – from June 24th-July 8th. We need intercessors, as well as those who are willing to pray, serve, do drama, and minister on the streets. In August, we will be launching a Jersey Shore Outreach from August 4th-10th. On this trip, we will minister up and down the Jersey Shore through drama, personal evangelism, prayer posts, and more. Two more trips are being planned for 2008, including a trip to Central Africa in September and possibly to Thailand or Panama. Stay tuned for details! Applications for Brazil and the Jersey Shore are already available at the Information Center. We are so looking forward to all that God will do through GAP missions over the coming year.
