Susan Brown is blessed to be a mother of three and treasurers that Jesus Is Lord! She actively serves at The Church of Grace and Peace and has been involved in various ministries since 1997 including but not limited to; teaching Sunday School, Small Group Leader, serving in Seaside, the Food Pantry and is also currently serving on the Finance Team/Stewardship Team.
In addition, Susan co-formed SIS (Single Moms in Sisterhood) a ministry for single moms here at The Church of Grace and Peace. Her heart is for equipping the single moms in and around our community and their children to be all that God created them to be.
Susan is an accountant at a highly respected and well known local Accounting Firm. She also has a small tax practice of her own. She graduated from Monmouth University with a Bachelors Degree in Business with a concentration in Accounting and has been working in the accounting field for over 20 years.
Fred Cordisco joined the Board in January 2014. Fred is a First Vice President of Investments with UBS Financial Services. Prior to joining UBS, he was a First Vice President Financial Advisor and Resident Director with Merrill Lynch. He was the former Resident Director of the Year Recipient as manager for 11 years in Toms River. He and wife Cathy live in Toms River, and have five children.
Bob Guempel graduated with a B.A. degree from Mt. St. Mary’s University. He worked for Wakefern Food / Shop-Rite Supermarkets in both retail and corporate program development. Currently employed by
Eii, Inc., a family electrical contracting business.
Bob has served local churches as a trustee, small group leader and a pastoral advisor. He marvels at God’s order and creation as an outdoorsman. Bob lives in Toms River with his sweet wife, Karen and
children Greg and Laura Sue.
Chris R. Healy is a respected senior executive in the information technology industry with 21 years of diverse experience. He has been a key employee in several high technology startups and is currently Senior Vice President of Planet Associates where he is responsible for strategic planning, engineering, marketing, sales, consulting, staffing, customer relations, technology and P/L. He has also worked for the Department of Defense in addition to several Fortune 500 companies and small businesses. In 1998, he founded and has operated a consultancy which facilitates pragmatic use of technology at nonprofits.
Chris has been a member of the Church of Grace and Peace since its inception in 1986. He has served in many capacities over the years including children's church, finance committee, deacon, Trustee advisor and Trustee. With clear dedication to the church's well-being and an earned business reputation for cogent strategy articulation to executives and myriad stakeholders, Mr. Healy was called upon to serve as Chairman of the Trustee Board for the Church of Grace and Peace. He has been privileged to serve in this capacity since 2008.
Chris majored in accounting and holds a degree in Business Studies from Richard Stockton State College of New Jersey. He is a lifelong resident of Toms River, NJ and enjoys his own family of six along with another 30 plus relatives in the immediate area.
Apostle Walter Healy is the Founding Pastor and Senior Leader of The Church of Grace and Peace. Prior to founding Grace and Peace, he was a school teacher. He has a B.A. from Keane University, is a Certified Career Counselor (Rutgers University) and attended American Christian College and Seminary. He founded the church in 1985. He also founded the Grace and Peace Institute of Biblical Studies (IBS).
In 2006, Pastor Walt became Chancellor of Wagner Leadership Institute – Toms River. Currently he is serving on the boards of the Christian Action Coalition and International Christian Wealth Builders Foundation. In September 2007, Pastor Walt founded FaithNet USA, an apostolic network of ministers, ministries and churches. He also serves on the boards of The Church of Grace and Peace, Community Compass, Faith Alliance, Firepower Ministries International, End-Time Ministries, The Hope Center, Melva Lea Ministries, and Pray NJ. He serves as the New Jersey Coordinator for the International Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem, NJ Director of Christians United for Israel, Clergy Advisor to the NJ Family Policy Council and Trustee of the Toms River Workforce Housing Community Land Trust.
Pastor Walt’s ministry passion is to present every man mature in Christ. His greatest experience with God has been experiencing the tangible presence of God during corporate worship. For Pastor Walt, there is no place better than home. Reading is one of his hobbies. He and his most excellent wife, Maureen, have seven children and 16 grandchildren.
Patti Magan is responsible for Client Service for large corporate clients. She comes to us with 12 years of experience in account management. Her experience includes disability, workers’ compensation, auto, general and product liability. Prior to joining Sedgwick in 2004, Patti worked as an Account Manager for a pharmacy benefits manager, and a group health carrier.
Her strengths include identifying client needs and meeting those needs, building and developing long term business relationships and the ability to coordinate a team and keep it motivated. Her sincere passion for meeting client needs and helping them reach their goals is exemplified by her winning Sedgwick’s “2010 Program Manager of the Year” award.
Frank Pell is married to Patti and together they have seven children and 19 grandchildren, with number 20 on the way. Frank has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and over 25 years experience in the banking industry working in information technology and office support environments. While employed by Sovereign Bank, he was honored by peers and managers, receiving nine “Red Carpet Champion” awards for service and the “Sovereign Pride Award” for “…demonstrating Red Carpet Service and exemplifying an outstanding combination of qualities including responsibility, integrity, dependability and work excellence.”
Frank currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees, Corporate Secretary, and Assistant Head Usher. He also serves on the Technology Team, generating multiple reports for the Executive Team.
Lou Scheidt has served as Innovative’s President and Chief Executive Officer since founding the firm in
1977 and is responsible for the direction and management of the firm’s overall operations. Mr. Scheidt
has over 35 years of engineering, planning, construction and management experience in the civil and
telecommunications engineering industries. Mr. Scheidt’s ability to motivate others and strong
leadership skills has enabled the firm to develop and continuously expand since inception. Mr. Scheidt’s
high personal integrity and commitment to produce results are the cornerstones of the firm’s business
philosophy and are the principles that he instills into the firm’s staff. Mr. Scheidt plays an active role
during the execution of the firm’s engineering and planning projects, development of proposals and
client relations. He is a leader on the energy and renewables team which encompasses IEI’s solar, wind,
power, utility and alternative energy projects.
In addition to his professional experience, Mr. Scheidt has been actively involved in the management,
fund-raising and expansion of numerous community service organizations throughout New Jersey
including the Monmouth/Ocean Food Bank, Toms River Kiwanis Club, Homes For All, Literacy Volunteers
of Ocean County, Will Graham Celebrations, Community Compass, Safe Harbor, Grace and Peace
Church, Grace Initiatives and the International Christian Wealth Builders Foundation.
Janie Turner Janie Turner has been a born-again believer since 1979. She has served in former churches in the choir and as president of the ushers board for 23 yrs. Janie’s life is best described as a life of service which comes from her love for her Savior. In her youth, Janie participated in the 1960s Civil Rights March alongside of Dr. Martian Luther King. In her earlier years she studied at Alabama A & M College and is now retired from 37 yrs employment with the New Jersey Natural Gas Company, holding various positions including accounts collection. She has attended the Church of Grace and Peace since 2003, where she is a member and has served in outreach ministry to the indigent and in children’s ministry, a passion of her life. She has been a Trustee of the church since 2009. Janie is an avid gardener and lives with her adult son in Toms River, NJ
Apostle Walter Healy
I am presently serving as Apostolic Overseer of The Church of Grace and Peace which I founded in 1985 and also as head of two networks, New Jersey FAITH ALLIANCE and FaithNet USA. In 1986 I founded the Grace and Peace Institute of Biblical Studies and later added the School of Ministry and a three year Counseling School. In January, 2006 I was appointed Chancellor of Wagner Leadership Institute, Toms River, our fourth school. I have been serving as Dover Township Police Chaplain since 1995. I also currently serve on Boards listed below.
I am ordained by It Is Written Evangelistic Association and currently carry licensing as an ordained minister from the International Convention of Faith Ministries, from Charismatic Bible Ministries of Tulsa, Oklahoma, from The Church of Grace and Peace, and from FaithNet USA. I am a member of all of these as well as being a member of Christ Covenant Coalition and the International Coalition of Apostles under John Kelly.
Maureen Healy is a wife, mother, grandmother and pastor. She is mother of seven children and grandmother of sixteen.
She was born again and baptized in the Holy Spirit in 1973. Since then she has been involved in all types of ministry including prayer meetings, Women’s Aglow, tape lending library, and retreats. Maureen co-founded The Church of Grace and Peace with her husband, Walter in 1985. She also serves as the corporate Vice President and is a member of the Trustee Board. She travels with her husband in connection with International Coalition of Apostles and FaithNet USA.
Maureen is the Ministry Overseer for several Grace and Peace Ministries including Women’s Ministry, Altar Prayer Team, Single Moms, Emergency Prayer Team, and Deliverance Ministry just to name a few. In prayer Maureen has been able to hear from heaven successfully to attain freedom from spiritual bondage for those who are oppressed.
Jim grew up in Northern Jersey and gave his heart to Christ at the age of 19. Soon after he felt God was leading him to begin training for ministry. He spent 6 years as a youth pastor before joining the staff of The Church of Grace and Peace (GAP) in 2001. Jim was GAP’s youth pastor for 11 years until becoming an Associate Pastor in July of 2011. In August of 2013 Jim was installed as Grace and Peace’s Lead Pastor.

Ralph Freda joined the staff of The Church of Grace and Peace in 1987 and was one of the founding trustees of the church. He is currently the Senior Associate Pastor and a pastoral Elder. Ralph oversees all Christian Education here at The Church of Graced and Peace which includes discipleship, formal education and periodic informal education. As a Pastoral Overseer he helps coordinates pastoral care, church membership, water baptism, and baby/child dedications.
Ralph was saved in June 1979. Prior to becoming a pastor he taught guitar and 5-string banjo. He was also a production coordinator at a military manufacturing plant. In 2009 he received his Doctorate Diploma in Practical Ministry from the Wagner Leadership Institute. Presently Ralph also serves as Dean of the Wagner Leadership Institute-Toms River.
Ralph and his wife, Rosemary, have one son John. To Ralph, his greatest experiences with God are being able to hear His voice and to know His mercies are new every morning.
James Wheeler came to The Church of Grace and Peace in January, 2011.
He serves as Worship Pastor over the worship, graphic arts, and multi-media ministries.
God’s call has unfolded as a life journey for James that has given him a diverse array of ministry opportunities. He received his under-graduate degree in Trombone performance and a Master of Arts in Worship Studies from Oral Roberts University. James has performed live as a trombonist on television and in professional symphonies and pops orchestras. With music missions teams he has ministered in the U.S. as well as abroad in Finland, Estonia and Japan. He has extensive experience as a studio-recording musician, staff arranger, creative director, songwriter and producer.
Thomas Hoffman has served as Principal of The Academy at Grace and Peace. He is presently an instructor at Grace and Peace Institute of Biblical Counsel (IBC) as well as Grace and Peace Institute of Biblical Studies (IBS).
He possesses degrees in Natural Science/Mathematics and advanced degrees in Chemistry and Counseling. Tom lectures on multiple counseling subjects including the enhancement of interpersonal relationships as well as solution-focused pastoral care. He also offers conferences in the areas of scientific applications and presentation on Creationism verses Evolutionism. Thomas and his wife Sandy have two sons, Joe and Brian
His Biblical background includes the following: graduate of Grace and Peace Institute of Biblical Studies, graduate of Grace and Peace School of Ministry, licensed pastor, staff pastor, itinerate minister and speaker at various churches, pastoral care counseling for individuals, groups, couples, families and bereavement.
His academic degrees include the following: AAS in Business/Paralegal, BA in Natural Science/Mathematics, Masters in Counseling and Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
Tom Kluender joined the pastoral staff of The Church of Grace and Peace in 2010 as Counseling Pastor. Tom oversees the men’s counseling department. Tom regularly teaches at GAP’s Institute of Biblical Counsel (IBC) and has taught at Wagner Leadership Institute.
Tom also serves as Pastor of Redeemed City Ministries, an addiction recovery aftercare program. Tom’s ministry passion is to see men’s lives changed and when men’s lives are changed families are changed which changes communities.
Gabrielle grew up at The Church of Grace and Peace. For her, it has always been a second home. After completing a three-year Youth Ministry Internship under Pastor Jim in 2012, she took the role of helping over-seeing operations for Cutting Edge Youth Ministries for a year. In August of 2013, she became the co-Youth Pastor at Grace and Peace. She loves working with the youth! Gabrielle’s main passion in ministry is to see the teens in our region experience the love and holiness of God and to have a deep and personal relationship with Him. She also has a passion for worship, counseling, missions, creative communications, and human trafficking awareness.
In her spare time Gabrielle enjoys singing, writing, reading, photography and decorating. She loves children, the Arts, Broadway, The NY Giants, ice cream and anything to do with the season of fall. She also absolutely loves spending time with her family and friends.
Nate joined the youth leadership team at Grace and Peace in 2006, and graduated a three year internship with Pastor Jim Wehrer for youth ministry in 2012. He then became Co-Youth Pastor in August of 2013. He has a passion to see the youth of Ocean County encounter God, live for Jesus, and lead lives that will change the world. Nate also has a heart for evangelism, and bringing the gospel to a hurting world where it’s needed most.
Jim Ricci has been the Business Administrator at The Church of Grace and Peace since 2007. Jim is a graduate of Nazarene Bible College with a degree in Biblical Studies and a minor in Pastoral Counseling. He also studied N.T. Greek at the New York School of the Bible, Calvary Baptist Church. Jim worked with Jews for Jesus as a volunteer missionary in NYC, having done artwork for several of their tracts called “broadsides.” He served as a pastor for 12 years in Colorado, Alaska, North Dakota, and New Jersey.
Jim spent 12 years in the corporate arena in the Banking Services and the Insurance Industries. He is also a certified Corporate Trainer with Achieve Global, and worked as a Speaker Trainer in the pharmaceutical industry. In July of 2012 Jim received his Certification as a Church Administrator (CCA) from the National Association of Church Business Administrators.
Josette joined the staff of The Church of Grace and Peace in May 2011, she currently serves as the Operations Administrator. Josette possesses both spiritual and natural gifts in the areas of administration and management. Her can-do attitude is also well placed in the administration office.
Jeremy joined the staff of The Church of Grace and Peace in 2007. He serves as the IT Administrator. In addition to computers, Jeremy also maintains our phone system, pod casts, and website. His education includes graduating Ocean County Vocational Technical School and Ocean County College with a degree in Computer Science.
Anna joined the staff at Grace and Peace in January of 2014. She brings with her over 20 years managerial, Human Resource, and Budget Management experience. Anna was most recently Regional and District Manager for Regis Corporation in their Supercuts Division.
Anna was instrumental in the expansion and development of Salons spanning the entire eastern seaboard. Anna has served at the Church of Grace and Peace in a multitude of ways including Life Group Leader and Prayer & Altar Team member. Anna has also been a mentor to several women in the wholeness program.
Bill joined the staff at The Church of Grace and Peace in September 2010. Prior to being employed in the custodial area, he served in his free time as an office volunteer for two years. Bill was previously employed as a Customer Service Manager with Wawa for five years. He attended Ocean County Vocational Technical School and DeVry University. Bill’s favorite scripture is 2 Corinthians 5:17.
Marlene came to The Church of Grace and Peace in 1987. You could say she was an “original” member. She started on staff in April, 2011.
Marlene has a great deal of experience in custodial services and has been a caretaker for local business schools. She also currently holds a position with Allentown High School where she works during the day, which allows her to work here in the evening. She has been involved in missionary work for 20 years including owning property in Guatemala which she uses to care for widows and orphans. Marlene has one daughter, Susan; 3 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
