We have seen the Lord do wonderful things here as He builds His church from the original twelve attenders to more than one hundred times as many.
All is well and yet there is the sense of incompletion that refuses to be satisfed until all of His churches are thriving in the harvest field and producing fruit that abides.
I am challenged by the heartbeat of Jesus to see Father glorified, His church edified and His enemies terrified. I am transfixed by the voice of the Spirit to put all things away until the Wind of God brings fresh Pentecost. We cannot be found wasting effort and resource on hay, wood and stubble when there is gold, silver and precious stones to be had. I must see that which endures, that which outlasts the work of man and remains when we are gone. There are three scriptures that have great relevance for me concerning the direction of my life and therefore the basis for my ministry and that of The Church of Grace and Peace: The "alpha" presents the foundational truth or core of all that we do; the "omega" establishes the supreme goal or target or desired end of all that we do; and the "action" provides the means by which we believe we move from alpha to omega. Here they are: Omega scripture (church legacy) – 2 Pt. 1:2: "Grace and Peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord." Action scripture (ministerial direction) – Col. 1:28-29: "Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily." The Lord Jesus Christ is filling all in all. As the Yes and Amen He is the God of promise and the God of performance. We behold Him and He changes us from glory to glory. Even so, Amen! |
