Missionaries to the Bariai People of Papua, New Guinea

Steve & Carol Jean Gallagher have been working with the Bariai people in Papua New Guinea since 1993. They and the Bariai translation team have translated the New Testament with Genesis and Exodus into the Bariai language. In July 2012 the completed Bariai Scriptures were dedicated and distributed to the Bariai community. In addition to their ongoing literacy work and Scripture promotion with the Bariai people, the Gallaghers are involved as consultants to their colleagues in other projects in Papua New Guinea and are exploring the possibility of adapting the Bariai translation into a related language.

Spiritual needs
Pray that they would have strong faith and would grow closer to God each day.

Pray for good health and safety in travel.
Pray for God’s provision of their financial needs.

Pray for guidance for Erin at Bethel University in MN and Adam at Princeton University in NJ.
Pray that they would grow in their relationships with Christ.

Good attitudes
Pray for joy, even in difficult and busy situations.
Pray that they would truly love as God loves.

The Bariai people
Pray that God’s Word in the Bariai language, in both print and audio format, would bear fruit in the lives of the people.
Pray that those who are not committed to Christ would turn whole-heartedly to Him.
Pray for the true believers to follow God’s Word and grow in their love for Christ.

Spiritual warfare
Pray that God would protect the Gallaghers and the Bariai people from Satan’s attacks.
Pray that God would turn all of Satan’s evil plans to good.
